MALAYSIA

Country Overview:

“If you only have a few days, skip Singapore and spend all your time in Malaysia - you won’t regret it”

Despite no beaches, Kuala Lumpur is my favorite capital in Southeast Asia. The city is full of life, plants, various ethnicities and religions, and winding streets full of hole-in-the-wall restaurants and bars. Each time I visit KL, I love exploring all that the city has to offer. Malaysia is a really interesting country and has some incredible islands and beaches to check out, especially Penang. Life still more colorful in Malaysia, and whether that’s because of the city’s energy, the food, or the colorful hijabs, there seems to be an energy in Malaysia that isn’t found in other places. Come for the food, stay for the sights.

Bridge between Singapore and Malaysia

KL is awesome. This was easily one of the best cities I've ever been to. Very multi-cultural, had a huge downtown, lots of shopping centers, but also lots of great hole in the wall restaurants, fun nightlife, nice people, clean. Seriously, if you ever get a chance to check out Kuala Lumpur, I highly recommend it. It has a similar sort of Hong Kong vibe. Found a lot of super tasty curry + naan as well as terrific seafood.
