The most empty, silent, and strangely alive place I've ever stood in.

Started as a visa run from China in 2013 and turned into one of the most memorable trips I've taken. The Gobi is vast in a way that breaks your brain — you can go hours without seeing another person. Stayed in a ger, drank fermented mare's milk, and felt very far from home.
